Carlos was born in Lima, Peru on October 12, 1968, where he spent his summers on the beach surfing and winters in the country side, supporting his love for nature and the outdoors.

 

At age 20, Carlos moved to Hawaii to pursue his dreams of surfing. Five years later he moved back to Peru where he graduated from business school with an MBA.  Carlos spent the next seven years working as a vice-president for an Insurance Brokerage Agency.

 

In 2001, Carlos realized that the cold weather and his suit and tie were no longer for him.  He wished to be back in the tropics, so he decided to trade his suit and tie for board shorts!

 

Carlos then researched every possible country with tropical weather. He was seeking decent surfing conditions, a stable economy, and safe place to raise his family.  In 2002, Carlos and his family moved to their little piece of paradise: Playa Negra, Costa Rica.
